Welcome, Baxter’s buddies!

We here at Baxter’s Boutique are a very small business with a very big heart! Our small family has loved animals for as long as we can remember. Our mascot, Baxter, was literally rescued from the streets on a random summer day and has warmed our hearts ever since. We weren’t really looking for a new furr-baby, and we wanted to be responsible, so we turned him into the local animal shelter in case he had a family who lost him - but we left our contact information in case he didn’t. We couldn’t stop thinking about him, and after the required week the shelter gives any owners who lost animals - they called us to pick him up! Little did we know, our little turd was on his best behavior for the first two weeks or so. In fact, he was so quiet we thought he might have something wrong with his vocal chords - he never once barked or whined or anything. Turns out, his chords work REALLY well; after that period of sweet deceit, his true inner wild-man came out! Here we are 9 years later, and our favorite sneaky little demon-child is still wild and still sweet. He loves food more than anything in the multiverse (probably including us!), with snuggling sliding in as a close second.

We also have a cat called Murray. Murray just may be the sweetest little man in all the lands. He quite literally sleeps in his Mawmaw’s arms every night, and loves nothing more than sleeping and snuggling. He even presses his head against your mouth when you give him kisses. Murray was also found in the wild, though instead of the streets, he was found as a tiny kitten in a storm drain while his Mawmaw was attending college. About fifteen years later and he still snuggles, still sleeps more than anyone we know, and still sleeps on his Mawmaw. Sadly, Murray developed late-stage renal failure in late 2022 and wasn’t expected to live through Christmas of that year. Here we are in August of 2023 and he’s still kicking! We are so thankful for all the extra bonus time! His illness and the expenses that accompany his continuing care were the catalyst that caused us to take the huge risk of starting our micro-business in November of 2022. Here we are almost a year later and we are thrilled to see the joy our hand-crafted items bring to the faces of the families who support us!

Now you know a little about us and how Baxter’s Boutique got started. Our goal is simple - create fun, unique, and hand-crafted accessories for all of your furry friends, and create a community of like-minded lovers of the four-legged along the way! We would love to have you join the family, and we thank you so much for your interest and support along our journey!
